Kurashiki International Friendship Festival

日本語  =>

The Kurashiki International Friendship Festival is held every year and provides an opportunity for mutual exchange among the Citizens of Kurashiki both Japanese and Foreign-born, while promoting the internationalization of the community.

There will be food stalls and a flea market, performances of international song and dance, Japanese cultural workshops, English haiku, consultations for foreign residents, national costume wearing and many other events.   The festival is advertised on this homepage, in the Kurashiki Koho information magazine, and by pamphlets distributed to municiple facilities.  Every year the Kurashiki International Exchange Association (via the International Section of Kurashiki City Hall) seeks volunteers to help with the preparation and execution of the festival.

The 25th International Friendship Festival

photos

The The 25th International Friendship Festival opened under clear autumn skies. I addition to the usual events, there were "Rakugo" performances and a speech contest for foreign residents on the Lobby stage. There was also a talk and performance from a singer resident to Nepal to raise funds for the Nepal earthquake recovery. Thanks go to all the visitors, volunteer staff, and committee members for making this year the success that it was.
