Thank you so much! Sister City Christchurch!!
Because of the heavy rain in early July, Kurashiki city was greatly damaged and various events were canceled. Part of this project were canceled. However, we were able to visit Christchurch and I got nervous and greeted the day.
At departure, members of junior high school students gathered up.
Many people sent off their departure.
When arriving in Christchurch, gas presidents, Newton, Matt, Steve of the sister city committee greeted us with full smiles. I went to C for the first time descended, but I felt nostalgic somewhere thanks to the welcome from the sister city committee. Moreover, the design of the building was fashionable in Christchurch, the lawn was green even in winter, and I saw big trees like 100 years old in various places such as parks and street trees.
In front of the Fendalton Library, the students met the buddies like old best friends. And they was able to experience the life of Christchurch families without being homesick for two weeks. I also experienced a homestay. Host family took care of me in and stayed with me every day. I like the design of the house. With the window spreading all over, I was able to enjoy the beauty of the sky and the scenery which change every moment.
Every school had a Japanese subject and I was surprised that many students are interested in Japan. In the Japanese classroom, not only letters but also Japanese maps and things introducing Japanese culture such as kimono, animation, Japanese foods photo and sweets packages were displayed.
Dalziel Mayor in Christchurch City was very concerned about the flood damage in Kurashiki City.
Christchurch City thought that I could do something for Kurashiki City.
Christchurch City Hall set a donation box for Kurashiki. This is the first time in New Zealand. I learned that the relationship between the two cities, which is the 45th anniversary of the sister city agreement, is closely tied in the long history.
It was two weeks that I felt familiar with Christchurch City.

姉妹都市訪問青少年生活体験団参加感想文
去る７月初旬の大雨により倉敷市は大きな被害を受け，さまざまなイベントが中止されました。特にこの事業も壮行会と第３回目の研修会が中止となりました。しかしクライストチャーチに訪問できることになり，落ち着かない面持ちで出発当日を迎えました。
出発には、元気な中学生のメンバーが集い、多くの方に見送られて出発しました。
クライストチャーチに到着すると，姉妹都市委員会のガス会長、ニュートンさん、マットさん、スティーブさんが満面の笑顔で出迎えてくださいました。私は，クライストチャーチは初めて降りた地ですが、姉妹都市委員会の歓迎のおかげでどこか懐かしく感じました。また町は、建物のデザインがオシャレで、冬でも芝生が緑で、樹齢100年のような大木を公園や街路樹などさまざまな場所で見かけました。
集合場所のフェンダルトン図書館で生徒たちは、バディと昔からの親友のように出会いました。そして２週間ホームシックになることなく、各家庭の生活を体験できました。私もホームステイを体験し、ファミリーの皆さんにお世話になり一緒に毎日を過ごしました。中でもお気に入りだったのは、家のデザインです。窓が一面に広がる造りで、刻々と移り変わる空や景色の美しさを堪能できました。
学校訪問では、訪問したどの学校にも日本語の教科があり、日本に興味のある学生が多いことにも驚きました。日本語教室には、文字だけでなく、日本地図や着物、アニメ、日本料理、お菓子のパッケージなど日本文化を紹介するものが展示されていました。
クライストチャーチのダジール市長表敬訪問では、倉敷の水害に大変心を痛めて気にかけてくださっていました。そして７年前のクライストチャーチ地震の災害支援の恩返しをしようと、クライストチャーチ市役所の受付には倉敷のための募金箱が設置してありました。これはニュージーランド初めてのことだそうです。姉妹都市協定を結んで４５周年の両市の関係は、長年の歴史の中で強い絆で結ばれていることを知りました。
クライストチャーチ市を身近に感じることの出来た２週間でした。
