What I learned in Christchurch

During my visit in Christchurch, I was deeply touched by New Zealand’s culture, people’s kindness and learned a lot from these experiences.

First of all, I knew how much Japanese cars are popular in New Zealand and in the world too. My host family owns 3 cars and all are made in Japan. The navigator system and the instructions of the buttons in their cars are shown in Japanese. I felt very proud of Japan when I look at them. I had already known from the News channel that Japanese cars and vehicles are used the most in the world, so I did realize that the news was true. I was very happy to be able to see that people are using Japanese cars in New Zealand where is far away from Japan.

Secondly, I felt that my host family is such a sweet people. I remember that they welcomed me very friendly when they met me for the first time. During my stay in their house, we had many skin ships. I was very surprised that even my host brother and host father hugged me. I was very excited and amazed when my host brother who is a rugby player lifted me with one arm. Also, my host mother asked me for a help in many occasions such as laundry and table setting. I was very glad for it, because they treated me not only as a guest but also as a member of their family only for 2 weeks stay.

Lastly, I noticed that I am more responsible than I thought. I did not lose or leave anything, and did not have any trouble when I entered New Zealand and exit from there. Happily, I did not lose any of the important things like passport and E-tickets. From now on, I will try to be responsive more and not depend on my parents too much.

In this event, I was able to meet so many gorgeous people and have chances to look back on myself. I am sure that this trip is going to be a best memory in my life. I would like to say thank you to everyone who supported me during this visit.

クライストチャーチ市を訪問して

私は今回のクライストチャーチ訪問でたくさんのことを感じ、学習することができました。
まず１つ目は、日本の車が、どれだけ世界で活躍しているのかということです。私のホストファミリーは３台車を持っていて、すべて日本の車のメーカーでした。前の席にあるボタンや、ナビの言語もすべて日本語でした。それを見て私はとても誇らしい気持ちになりました。日本の車は世界で最も多くの国で乗られているということは、前にニュースを見て知っていましたが、実際にニュージーランドという日本からかなり遠く離れた国でこんなにも乗られていると知り、嬉しく思いました。

２つ目は、ホストファミリーの皆さんがとても温かかったことです。初めて会った時からとてもフレンドリーに私を迎えてくださったことをよく覚えています。滞在中は家族とたくさんスキンシップを取りました。バディーやホストマザーだけでなく、ホストファザーやお兄さんともハグをしました。ラグビー選手のお兄さんに片手で抱っこしてもらってびっくりしました。また、ホストマザーは私にいろいろなお手伝いを頼んでくれました。例えば、洗濯物を回収したり、テーブルをセットしたりすることなどです。私は自分をゲストとして迎えてくれると同時に、２週間の短い間だけでも家族の一員として扱って下さったことがとても嬉しかったです。

３つ目は、自分が思っていたよりも、きちんと自己管理が出来たということです。ニュージーランドでは物をなくすことはありませんでしたし、入国や出国時にも問題はありませんでした。何よりも一番安心したことは、パスポートやEチケットなどの大切なものを無くすことなく管理出来たことです。これを機会にこれからも自分のことは自分でやるようにし、お母さんやお父さんにあまり迷惑をかけないようにしたいと思います。

　この訪問は、たくさんの素晴らしい人との出会いがあり、また自分自身のことについて考えるよい機会にもなりました。きっと一生の思い出になると思います。ありがとうございました。
