Christchurch, the city of full of hospitality
I spent two weeks in New Zealand and felt the following things. They are largely divided into 3 categories; beautiful nature, delicious food and people full of hospitality.
First, about nature.
We can encounter are many animals all over New Zealand; sheep, hose, cow and so on.
In addition, green leaves are so beautiful and the air is clean. The ocean is beautiful and crystal clear.
Scenery from gondola was supreme. We can see a snow – caped mountain like Mt. Fuji
Next, about foods.
New Zealand is famous for mince pie, hokey pokey, ram dishes and so on. There is minced meat of cattle in the mince pie. You can add ketchup on it as you like. Way of eating it is usually using fork and knife, but it is also good to use fingers. Hokey pokey is delicious ice cream. There are some caramel in it. I like the taste very much. There are hokey pokey flavor’s candies in New Zealand.
When we went to the farm, we ate ram. Maybe it is delicious actually. But we ate it in front of sheep so I couldn’t taste it good. I want to eat it normally next time.
Finally, about people.
I couldn’t make myself understood when I talked host family and friends of school.
At that time, they tried to manage to understand what I said, consulting dictionaries and internet. I said my buddy’s friends “Please tell me where is your school badge.”. Then they took me there. Besides this, when I was in trouble, they helped me. And when I kept silent, they talked to me in Japanese. I was so glad about their kindness. In New Zealand, the person of the first meeting is kind, too. When I went to skating and fall down, he helped me in spite of the first meeting. I felt around people’s gentleness many times. Therefore farewell was very sad and lonely.
When my buddy come here, we want to make happy memories together.
大切な思い出をくれた場所、クライストチャーチ
クライストチャーチに行って思ったことを大まかに分けると、自然が美しい、食べ物がおいしい、人々が優しい、の三つです。
まず、自然が美しいことについて。
ニュージーランド全体として、羊や牛、馬などの動物が多かったです。他にも緑が美しく、空気がきれいでした。海も水がきれいで透き通っていました。ゴンドラから見た景色も最高でした。常に富士山のように頭に雪をかぶった山が見えていました。
次に、食べ物がおいしいということについて。
ニュージーランドには、ミンスパイやホーキーポーキー、ラム肉などの有名な食べ物があります。ミンスパイは中に牛のひき肉などが入っています。お好みでケチャップなどをかけて食べます。食べ方は、手で食べてもフォークやナイフを使って食べてもどちらでもいいです。ホーキーポーキーは、キャラメルのようなものが入っているアイスです。私の大好きな味で、ホーキーポーキー味のお菓子などもあります。ラム肉は農場に行った時に食べました。たぶん、本当はおいしいと言えるのですが、農場にいる羊の前でラム肉を食べたので、心からおいしいとは言えませんでした。今度は普通に食べてみたいです。
そして、人々が優しいということについて。
私がホストファミリーや学校の人たちに言いたいことが伝わらないことが多々ありました。その時、彼らは私の話を何とか分かろうとしたり、辞書などで調べてくれたりしました。バディの友達にどこに学校の校章がかいてあるか聞くと、その場所に連れて行ってくれました。他にも、困っていたら助けてくれたり、一人で黙っていたら日本語で話しかけたりしてくれてとても嬉しかったです。クライストチャーチは初対面でも優しい人がたくさんいました。スケートに行った時、滑っていて転ぶと、初対面にもかかわらず、助けてくれました。私は周りの人のやさしさや温かさを何度も感じました。その分、お別れが悲しくて寂しかったです。
今度バディの子が来るときには一緒に楽しい思い出をたくさん作りたいと思います。
