Home-stay for 2 weeks
July 25. I left Japan with my 13 companies, saying a home-stay only of English and holding an expectation and anxiety by myself for the first time.
I have finished the long journey which made the airplane and have arrived at Christchurch in New Zealand at last. When I got out of an airplane, I felt "It was cold!" in winter. At the site, a person of charge was waiting and welcomed very much. After taking a few sightseeing tours of the city, at last, I met Fred and a host family. They welcomed me who couldn't finish hiding tension and delight and said "hello" by a gentle smiling face. A home-stay for 2 weeks which have started in this way. From what to what was everything fresh and enriched by a first thing. Even two of them I would like to introduce that an impression was deep in particular.
It's that I took "jetboat" for sightseeing on August 2. It was most fun . First , we visited a farm and had good lunch. After that, I took a jetboat with my friends. Before taking it, I thought "... which will be fast and be its water and to advance" and didn't expect it so much. But for a boat as well as the speed more than expected to revolve 360 times, when I got on that, it was very fun, was thrilling and was much by exhilarating feeling. I wore gloves with a hat, but though I got wet with a splash of water and felt a little cold . I received the hot chocolate. It was nice and make me warm. Everyone screamed with loud voice, and that was also good experiences.
And it's "farewell party" that it was my best memory. A farewell party is the party which includes gratitude in a host family and holds on a day at the home-stay end. We and Japanese exchange students studying abroad were preparing a program for this day. One at an announcement was doing increasingly. Big protuberance made the meeting place the surprise which wasn't expected. We presented a dance (It was URAJYA.), a song (Tsubasa wo kudasai) and Japanese snacks. And the whole meeting place was wrapped in a smiling face. After rising, the farewell was made the host family who was under care separately. When I thought "were you separated with this,...", I became lonely. Then Fred's father, "Later, you should come.", you spoke gently, and it was moved with tears. It became a precious night of the last day with Fred and his family.
I miss, the substantial two weeks I spent. When I looked back, it was a moment. There are also many memories I couldn't finish writing here. Every day I spent at Christchurch was the precious memories which have no cases that everything is forgot for life. I'd like to visit them again someday.

「出会いと別れ～充実した２週間のホームステイ～」
7月25日。初めて一人で英語だけのホームステイということもあり、期待と不安を抱えつつ、１４人の仲間と共に日本を出発しました。
飛行機を中心とした長旅を終えて、ついにニュージーランドのクライストチャーチに到着しました。飛行機から降りると、ニュージーランドは冬で、「寒い！」と感じました。現地では、担当の方が待っていてくれて、とても歓迎してくれました。少しの市内観光をした後でついに、僕はバデイーのフレッドとホストファミリーに出会いました。緊張と喜びを隠し切れなかった僕を、みんなは優しい笑顔で「hello」と歓迎してくれました。こうして始まった２週間のホームステイ。何から何まで初めてのことで、全てが新鮮で充実していました。中でも、特に印象深かったことを二つ紹介したいと思います。
まず一番楽しかったことは、８月２日に、観光で「ジェットボート」に乗った事です。まず、ジェットボートに乗る場所の隣には農場があり、そこで美味しいランチを食べました。その後、皆でジェットボートに乗りました。乗る前は、「ただ速く水の上進むのだろう…」と思っていて、あまり期待はしていなかったです。しかし、それに乗ってみると、予想以上のスピードに加えて、ボートが３６０度回転するため、とても楽しくスリリングで、爽快感でいっぱいでした。帽子と手袋はしていましたが、冬なのに水しぶきでぬれてしまい、少し寒かったです。そのあとに頂いたホットチョコレートが温かくておいしかったです。みんな大きな声で叫び、それも良い思い出でになりました。
そして一番の思い出となったことは、「フェアウェルパーティー」です。フェアウェルパーティーとは、ホームステイ最後の日に、ホストファミリーに感謝の気持ちを込めて開くパーティーのことです。僕たち、日本人の交換留学生は、この日のために出し物を準備していました。いよいよ発表の時がやってきました。予想していなかったサプライズに、会場は大盛り上がりしました。僕たちは、ダンス（うらじゃ）と歌（翼をください）と日本のお菓子をプレゼントしました。そして会場全体が笑顔に包まれました。盛り上がった後は、お世話になったホストファミリーに個別にお別れをしました。「これでお別れなのかな…」と考えると寂しくなりました。すると、フレッドのお父さんが「また、来たらいいよ。」と優しく声をかけてくれ、涙があふれました。フレッドとホストファミリーとの最後の夜は、かけがえのない最高の思い出となりました。
こうやって過ごした充実した二週間。振り返ると、あっという間でした。ここに書ききれなかった思い出もたくさんあります。クライストチャーチで過ごした日々はどれも一生忘れることのない大切な思い出となりました。また、いつか、フレッドの家族に会いに行きたいと思います。
